Mohammad W Hassan, MD

Dr. Mohammad Hassan, MD, DABFM, is a Harvard-trained, board-certified Family Medicine and Addiction Medicine physician. His clinical work spans the full scope of family medicine, with particular expertise in the care of adolescents, young adults, and adults with substance use disorders, as well as family-centered and developmentally informed care.

Dr. Hassan previously served as Chief Resident and completed residency in Upstate, New York with concentrations in Academic Medicine and Addiction Medicine. Following this he went on to complete fellowship training in Addiction Medicine at Harvard Medical School. His work reflects a longstanding commitment to evidence-based clinical practice, physician education, and the integration of addiction treatment into primary care.

He has authored peer-reviewed publications across several areas of clinical medicine and is licensed to practice in New York and Massachusetts. Dr. Hassan is an active member of the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine, American Society of Addiction Medicine, American College of Academic Addiction Medicine, and American Academy of Family Physicians. He serves on the Advocacy Commission of the New York State Academy of Family Physicians.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Hassan enjoys spending time with his children, photographing, and hiking the Finger Lakes.
